Silly us, we thought Rita Ora’s most outrageous satirical choice at the MTV Video Music Awards was her barely-there red dress. But it was actually the singer’s mani that left our mouths hanging open this morning. Long pointy talons are nothing new on the red-carpet. Bright red polish is about as safe a color as you can pick. And thanks to Pinterest, when it comes to nail art we’ve seen it all. But what made us do a double take was the price of this red carpet manicure. Celebrity manicurist Barbara Warner painted Ora’s nails with Azature’s Black Diamond Nail Lacquer ($18) in Ruby Diamond, which contains real black diamonds, and then crafted the nail art out of diamonds and rubies. The total cost of this bold look? $56,000. We really hope it doesn’t chip any time soon!
