I consider myself a bit of a mascara elitist. It’s part of my job to test new formulas, but honestly, most don’t get to stick around my makeup bag for long—and even fewer make it to the mandatory three-month throwaway mark. In fact, I haven’t really fallen for a mascara in months—until last week.
M.A.C.’s new Studio Sculpt Mascara ($16), officially launching today, perfectly encapsulates everything about a good formula: it gives a full, thick lash quickly; yet it doesn't flake, irritate my eyes, or get clumpy. The brush only packs two rows of bristles, which seems a little weird at first, but they deliver thick volume to even the smallest baby lash, without making a mess. I don’t look forward to bidding adieu to this one.
